About Us
Founded in 1980, the Islamic Center of Jersey City (ICJC) is one of the oldest and most respected mosques in New Jersey. It was originally established as the home of Al-Ghazaly School, a private Muslim K–12 institution known for its strong academic and Islamic education. When the school moved to its own building, the facility became a mosque and community center dedicated to daily worship, Friday Jumuʿah, education, and social service. Today, ICJC continues to nurture spiritual growth and unity across the Muslim community, with its main masjid in Jersey City and a branch that extends outreach to New York City.

Our mission is to serve as a house of worship, a center for learning, and a foundation for compassion and community service. ICJC strives to embody the teachings of Islam through peace, sincerity, and social responsibility -supporting individuals and families in faith and daily life.
